Name: Sam Winchester Door: Door Pass - Submissive Canon: Supernatural Canon Point: 06x11, just before his soul is put back in him Age: 28 Appearance: Here! History: Here! Personality: Positive Trait: INTELLIGENT Considered a "walking encyclopedia of weirdness" by his brother, Sam is incredibly intelligent. He is a natural-born researcher that thrives in the hunter life because he does so. More often than not, he's the one using the laptop to look up what new monster they're hunting and will stay up late doing so. For example, when Dean thought that they were searching for one of Heaven's weapons (Gabriel's Horn of TruthTM), Sam was the one who figured out they were chasing a goddess named Veritas instead. He knows not only the information already in his head, but how to find information or when to doubt that they may be misinformed. Additionally, Sam is excellent at thinking on the spot. When things aren't going as planned on a case, Sam has demonstrated an ability to improvise and do so correctly. It's not uncommon for Plan A to go wrong and for Sam to quickly pick up a Plan B. For example, when he and Dean are unable to find a demon that crashes airplanes in the airport, he quickly pivots to telling Dean (who is afraid of planes) that they are getting on the airplane instead of waiting. Another example is during combat. More than once Sam has had his gun or knife ripped out of his hands by a supernatural power and he turns to the next best thing like a pipe, broken glass, and the like. Negative Trait: UNEMOTIONAL Without a soul, Sam does not feel any emotions or feel many physical sensations. He doesn't feel anger, sadness, compassion and the like. He does not consider the feelings of others either. He may try every now and then, but mostly when attempting to pose as someone with a soul. Sam outright tells Dean that he's a much better hunter because he can't feel fear and never has to slow down for things like sleep or food. To him, all of this lack of emotion is a huge bonus. Additionally, he lacks the ability to feel some physical sensations like hunger and fatigue. More than once, we see him get food to look the part, but often he will push it around the plate or otherwise pretend to need to eat. Sam doesn't need to, so he often will just go along with Dean's practices in an attempt to look normal. Regarding fatigue, Sam never needs to sleep. In more than one episode, Sam is depicted as never having pulled back the sheets of his hotel bed or doing research while Dean sleeps. Negative Trait: JOB-ORIENTED Without emotions or feelings, Sam is extremely focused on his hunting. He can work around the clock at a non-stop pace and not feel negatives from it. When it comes to making tough choices, Sam will take the one that most aligns with his case. For example, when the possibility arrives to keep his soul out forever, Sam goes for it without hesitation. He attacks his father figure Bobby Singer and nearly kills him in the process. Does Sam care about any consequences stemming from this action? No. Does Sam care that Bobby's death would upset Dean? No, he doesn't. He outright tells Dean in one episode that he doesn't care about Dean's love interest or Dean himself. Another example is when Dean is turned by vampires. Sam finds Dean and has all the time in the world to prevent the turning from happening, but he stays back because he figures that Dean will survive and be able to infiltrate the vampire nest that they've been trying to get into. Sam doesn't care that this will anger Dean nor does he care about any consequences other than the completion of the job with the deaths of all the vampires except the Alpha. Dean refers to him as RoboCop more than once and there is not a more apt nickname, especially as Sam mentions as well that he has been hunting for a year, 24/7. Negative Trait: DECEITFUL Without a soul, without emotions, Sam lies like he's pathological. Ever since Dean realized that Sam was alive, Sam lies to him about 85-90% of the time. A major lie that he tells all season is why he stood back and let Dean be turned into a vampire. In the Veritas episode, when Dean tries to get the truth out of him, Sam lies and says that he froze, that he would never let Dean get hurt like that. When Veritas asks him a question later, Sam is able to easily lie to her, despite the fact that her abilities should force a truth out of him. Sam also lies without consequence. He tells a lie about about caring about Dean's love interest and her son, but later we find out that not only is it not true, but Sam has been lying about it, without a single qualm, for about 4-5 months. He lies about who they're working for, he lies about his identity (albeit that is normal for the Winchesters), and all without a thought to the consequences down the road. > > These three negative traits correspond to Sam without a soul, I am planning on canon updating Sam a few months after his arrival and will provide an updated set of three negative traits when that occurs. However, if unable to bring Sam's soul in the box, the box contains John Winchester's journal, but Sam will still act under the suspicion that his soul is in the box. Samples: Sample 1 Sample 2 |

Update Info
Sam Winchester |
New Canon Point: 07x02
Personality Changes:
In canon, after Sam has his soul returned, there is also a mental wall put up to prevent Sam from remembering Hell. He completes a few hunts before that wall starts to crumble. Castiel brings down the wall in one fell blow and Sam has to put the pieces of himself back together (in the form of a dream and extended unconsciousness). He wakes up in time for the brothers to fail in preventing Castiel from absorbing all the souls from purgatory. He also wakes up as himself. Sam starts to struggle with the memories of Hell and it's while doing research for a hunt that Sam is updated (07x02).
Positive Trait: INTELLIGENT (remains the same from the initial app)
Considered a "walking encyclopedia of weirdness" by his brother, Sam is incredibly intelligent.
Negative Trait: STUBBORN
Despite having a considerable intellect, many times Sam allows his stubbornness to drive his decision making. Once Sam is set in a thought process or belief, he will stick to it, no matter what others say. A prime example is throughout the first two seasons, after learning he is one of Azazel's special children, he argues with Dean frequently that he is something to be feared, something too unnatural to handle. Sam believes himself to be a monster and no one can convince him otherwise. This continues into the fourth and fifth seasons. In the fourth season, he learns that he can drink demon blood and despite yet more arguments with Dean, Sam continues to drink demon blood, as he believes that he will be able to somehow stop the apocalypse by doing so.
This stubbornness also occurs when Sam is interacting with those outside of Dean. When he's possessed by Lucifer, Sam refuses to give in, to make things easy on both of them. And it's this stubborn nature that allows Sam to eventually retake his body and dive into Hell. Sam is stubborn to his core and there are very few people who can break down this wall. Many times, he is the one trying to persuade others to his point of view. He can even try to persuade himself, such as when he's hallucinating Lucifer: he tries to talk to himself and convince himself that the hallucination isn't real.
Negative Trait: GUARDED
Throughout his career of having Shit Done To Him, Sam has become more and more guarded. He will spoon out 'I'm fine's even as he's having nightmares, bleeding from multiple orifices, and taking gunshots to the shoulder. He hides away beneath a hardened exterior as often as he can so his brother, Bobby, or whoever won't worry about him. However, this often worsens whatever situation that Sam is in. For example, when considering his potential fate as a 'Special Child,' he doesn't allow Dean in to help him with this problem. Instead, Sam sits and stews until he's eventually kidnapped with other 'special children. Eventually, he ends up dead for his reticence.
This doesn't just cover physical maladies other. At the canon point that Sam is being updated to, he has been lying to Dean and Bobby about the depth of his hallucinations. He claims they're only nightmares or that he's doing 'fine.' It's only after he follows after a hallucination of Dean to a remote warehouse that he lets the real Dean truly help him. Even then, he doesn't tell Dean about how frequent the hallucinations are getting until he ends up in a psych ward later in the season. Dean has to find out from Death (the horseman) about the extent of Sam's hallucinations rather than from Sam himself.
Negative Trait: FATALISTIC
In his time as a hunter, Sam has put his life at risk more often than needed. For example, when Jess, his girlfriend dies, he tries to stay behind, despite the fact that the room is literally on fire. Sam will put himself and his safety second at almost every opportunity. When he's potentially infected with a deadly virus, he insists that Dean leave him behind. This sort of behavior is especially true when he's on a hunt with innocent people. He will jump into danger or push innocents out of the way.
Sam firmly believes that his life is less than those around him. This is seen when Sam is collecting the pieces of himself after the hell wall comes down. He knows that knows that collecting all the pieces of could kill him, but he needs to collect them in order to wake up and help Dean and Bobby. He has a discussion with himself about this very issue, the piece with memories tells Sam he's not strong enough, but Sam himself tells the piece that he can't leave his brother alone to deal with the current crisis.
Powers and Abilities:
Sam loses the increased focus, increased stamina, and increased pain tolerance that he had while soulless. He gains no new powers.
